The Oseco STD or Standard is a forward acting rupture disc designed for a broad range of performance applications. The STD is commonly used in high pressure, small diameter, applications to vent pressure to controlled areas or to the atmosphere.

A solid safety feature for oil and gas separators includes the installation of a rupture disc and holder. The disc is typically used in conjunction with a safety relief valve as a secondary device to relieve pressure from 1.1 – 1.21 times the MAWP of the vessel.
Cokers or delayed cokers process residual oil stocks by heating it to its thermal cracking temperature in a furnace operation with multiple passes. Due to the number of pumps, separators, and condensers at high temperatures, rupture discs are often employed as a means of over-pressure protection.
Process towers or columns are used in the distillation process. Distillation towers or distillation columns are designed to operate to produce varying streams according to the output streams boiling point.
Rupture discs are generally used as secondary relief devices on dehydrators. The rupture disc's set pressure is higher than the safety relief valve. If the relief valve cannot handle the upset in the dehydrator, the rupture disc activates to relieve the upset. Oseco also manufactures burst sensors that can be simply hooked in with the dehydrator's automation. In the event of an overpressure, the burst sensor can shut down the dehydrator saving environmental damage.
Gas compressors traditionally use a relief valve for a primary relief device. Oseco manufactures high performance rupture discs that require almost no maintenance and can stand up to the high vibrations a compressor can cause. When a burst disc is paired with an Oseco burst sensor, compressors can be shut down in the event of an overpressure, saving environmental damage.
