Rupture discs are commonly
used as the primary relief device on Pharmacutical tanks. Rupture discs will need to withstand full vacuum, and are generally rated at approximatly 45 psig. Oseco's Pro-S is an excellent choice for this applciation, and fits directly into exhisting sanitary ferrule connections.

Bio processes normally
require constant temperature. Biological fermentation is a major source of heat, therefore in most cases, bioreactors need refrigeration. Should refrigeration fail, the heat generated could create an unsafe operating condition and require over pressure protection, i.e. rupture disc.
